Rules - Napa Valley Golf

The Rules of Golf, including the Rules of Etiquette, as adopted by the USGA shall be the rules of this Course, except when modified by local rules or any of the rules herein.

  • Safety and Consideration for other players: No player should play until the players in front are out of range.
  • Place of play:  All players are expected to complete their round in 2 1/2 hours or less.  It is the responsibility of each group to keep pace with the group ahead.  If your group falls one complete hole behind the group ahead, you are required to allow the faster group to play through.  A course marshal has the authority to keep play moving at the proper pace for the benefit and enjoyment of all players.
  • Fill/replace all divots.  Use provided sand and seed mix whenever possible.
  • Carefully repair ball marks on the greens using a divot repair tool.
  • Enter and leave bunkers at the nearest level point.  Rake and smooth the sand and leave the rake in the bunker.
  • Observe all posted cart rules.  Sometimes we post “cart path only” signs; other times we will ask you to observe the “90-degree rule.”
  • Keep carts 30 yards from greens and tees.
  • No person under the age of sixteen (16) shall be permitted to drive any cart.
  • No more than two (2) people are allowed on Association owned carts, including the driver.
  • Yardage markers are indicated on the edges and in the center of the fairways, starting at 100 yards and then in 50-yard increments.
  • Any non-golf activity such as jogging, walking, bicycling, etc. is prohibited.
  • Pets, whether or not on a leash, are not allowed on the course at any time.
